A Place for Mom provides assistance in finding senior care or senior living facilities that fits the needs of you or your loved one.   A Place for Mom’s service is free; however, they require payment from the facility for the benefit of the placement.   Inherently, this may place the wrong incentive for the referral placement specialist.  For instance, A Place for Mom may refer you to a facility for no other reason than they receive a better referral fee.   It is really important for you to visit facilities because the people at the facility are what make a great facility.  You can have fancy flooring and decorations, but if the people aren’t going to provide good care then it really doesn’t matter.   When visiting the facility, take note on how the current residents are being greeted, treated and cared for.
